Carol Larson
Carol Larson is Trustee Emerita and former President and CEO of the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. She retired from that position at the end of 2019, after three decades at the Foundation, serving as its president for 2004 through 2019. Prior to joining the Foundation in 1989, Carol was a partner in a Los Angeles, California law firm specializing in civil litigation. She also worked in the nonprofit sector on behalf of persons with developmental disabilities.
In addition to serving on the Sobrato board, Carol currently is a visiting scholar at the Stanford Center on Longevity. She has served on numerous boards in the past, including ClimateWorks Foundation, Council on Foundations (chair), American Leadership Forum - Silicon Valley, Northern California Grantmakers, and Grantmakers for Children, Youth and Families.
Carol received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her law degree from Yale Law School. Carol is the mother of two grown daughters.
